Short Story Notes

A & P by John Updike\nThe avocation personation is when Sammie the 19-year-old boy discontinue his job at the local super market A&P. Sammie is working on a Thursday afternoon and in come 3 girls wearing away bathing suites. All tierce girls ar judged in his eye and he goes into detail close to what he sees. The first atomic number 53 is queenie who seems to be the leader of the conclave of girls. Since all 3 girls atomic number 18 wearing nada simply their bikinis they are asked by the private instructor Lengel to leave, who comes in from, haggling with a truck full of cabbages on the lot and is about to run into that door marked bus(21).They are asked to leave the inventory and come back when they are dressed. Sammie witness this happening and distinct he indispensablenesss to quit. When he interrupt he does not want to be like the sheep he calls the costumers or everyone else. Sheep seem to stick to one another and stop when one stops and so on. Sammie quits because he wants to bear upon these girls. He is immature up to now but then realizes that the girls are not there any longer and he has now stepped into a new world heedless of what his parents and his manager want.\n\n girl brill by Katherine Mansfield\nThe following passage is about Miss brill and her harsh reality. Miss brill is an older lady who spends her sunshine afternoons at the viridity-watching multitude. There is nothing wrong with watching people but she believes that she somehow impacts their lives or that she is apart of these strangers lives. She has been enjoying her usual sunshine afternoon at the park until she notices a four-year-old braces talking about her. The young couple states that they dont understand why she is regular at the park and hand fun of her fur. She leaves upset and doesnt even go push back her favorite pastry at the local bakery because she is upset. Miss Brill is a lonely woman who creates fantasies in her mind.
